Therapist-Taught Tools Recap Copy

Coping tools are a set of strategies used to master trauma reactions. The therapist teaches several well researched tools including deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, guided imagery, feelings thermometer, cognitive techniques (positive thoughts and thought insertion), and mindfulness (mindful awareness and standing meditation). The child should practice the coping tools both in and out of sessions to reinforce their use.
