In Session 7, the therapist reminds the caregiver to bring the cue list that they were given in the first session. As several weeks passed, it’s suggested that the therapist remind the caregiver by calling them, emailing them, or telling them in person when they come to pick up the child after therapy.
It is also a good idea to inform the child that the joint session with the caregiver is coming up. Let them know that they will act as co-informants to help you share their progress and skills learned with the caregiver. In addition, it is recommended to check-in regarding how much detail they are comfortable sharing (e.g., reading the trauma narrative).
