Sample Collection Process During the Games Copy

As an athlete representative at a Major Games, below are a few variances to be aware of:

1. During the Period of the Games, the Major Games accreditation can serve as appropriate identification for athletes when notified for drug testing.

2. In addition to the athlete, the sample collection personnel, and the athlete representative, an interpreter, an IOC or IPC representative, and a WADA and/or an International Federation representative may be present during a sample collection session. However, only the DCO or chaperone, the athlete representative, and the third party representative (present for athletes who are minors) should be present in the toilet area during the provision of the sample.

3. During the Period of the Games, the doping control equipment kits used for urine and blood sample collection, may be different from that used outside of the Period of the Games.
